How do I edit the slide master for selected slides only?

I have a presentation with 80 slides. I want to remove an object on the
slide master for slides 72-80. How do I do this? Thanks!

What version of PowerPoint are you using? In PowerPoint 2002 and 2003 you can
use multiple masters. In previous versions you would need to use a different

So, you'll want to create a new master - - go to View > Master and then to
Insert > Duplicate Master. Delete the object on the new master. Go to View >
Side Sorter. Select slides 72-80 and then go to Format > Design Template and
hover your cursor over the new master in the taskpane (probably under "Used in
This Presentation" on the right) and click on the arrow and select "Apply to
selected slides".
