How do I eliminate a watermark on the first page?

I am typing a document, and want to have a watermark on every page except the
first one, which is a title page. How can I eliminate the watermark on only
the first page?

On the Layout tab of Page Setup, check the box for "Different first page."
If the watermark still appears on the first page, View | Header and Footer
(from page 1) and delete it.
