how do I end a slide show when not using presenter screen?

I don't like the presenter screen so i trying to use power point without it.
I run two files at the same time and want to switch back and forth between
them. I can turn the view slide show 'on' but I can't turn it off without
actually leaving the file. What to do?

Using the Alt + Tab key combination will toggle you between running
applications. This is probably what you want.

PowerPoint can't run two slide shows simultaneously, but Chirag has an add-in
called PowerShow that might be just what you need. See
