How do i exactly align pics to within a mm- there is no text

I am trying to insert about 10 pics tht all together make up a lrage map.
Therefore i need to align the pics exactly. At the moment all i can do is
align them to a point that seemd predetermined by Word. Can't get the pics
aligned exactly.
