How do I filter in MS Project by Task names?

David Cohen

I have a large project with several job streams. Each job stream requires a
business requirements document (BRD).

One manager is asking for a report that only shows the BRDs, their durations
and the resources. I would like a simple compact report.

Any suggestions?

Hi David,

Try:
Project > Filtered For > More Filters.
In the More Filters dialog box click the New... button.
Give the Filter a name and click the Show in menu check box.
First row:
Field Name: Name
Test: Contains
Value: Business Requirement Document or whatever key text in the name
field you are searching for.

Click OK to close the Filter Definition dialog box.
Click Apply to apply the filter or Cancel to close the More Filters
dialog box.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie
