How do I find & import old Outlook email messages?

I have purchased and updated to Office XP. During the last phase of the
install, the installer asked me if I wished to import both messages &
accounts from Outlook Express. I DO NOT use Outlook Express! Rather, I was
using an older version of Outlook. However, the installer did NOT even
present importing from the older Outlook as an option.

I am very WORRIED that my old email messages are LOST forever!

I am gonna cry if I can't get access to my old emails!!

Stupidly, I have never BACKED UP my old Outlook files & emails. (In fact, I
don't even know how.)

Please HELP me!! Anybody!
