How do I fix email protocol error "issue STARTTLS cmd"?

On outgoing email from Outlook, McAfee is giving me a protocol error 530
5.7.0 and says "Must issue a STARTTLS command first". Any idea how I fix
this?

Check with McAfee support.

Another option (recommended) is to disable McAfee's integration with
Outlook. It doesn't add an extra level of security anyway.
