Floppy disks are very unreliable media to place your files on. However, if
a disk is unformatted when you put it in the "A" drive it will ask you if
you want to format it (this should happen automatically). Since most floppy
disks now come already formatted, if you get this error message the disk is
probably corrupt. Have you tried another disk? Do you know the file size
of your presentation? Are you sure it will fit on the floppy?

it says 932 KB

From the main menu bar, choose File, Properties.
Click the General tab ... you'll see the size there.

USB "data thumbs" are very handy for this and all kinds of data transfers. You
might want to consider getting one at some point.

For now, what about email? If the file's not TOO huge you could, say, set up a
yahoo or other web-based free email account, email it to yourself then access the
account from the other computer and download the file.

When looking at disk, are there two holes at the top left and right? if so
your disk is protected, and cannot be reformatted. If the protection tab has
been removed, just put a piece of tape over the hole and try your format.

Which does not mean anything other than that is how it was formatted
originally. On the physical diskette there should be two holes If they are
both open, then the disk is write protected and cannot be formatted. If one
is closed then it can be formatted. if the diskette does not have a slide
down tab on the left when looking at the back of the disk, then you will
have to put some tape over that hole to format it or even write to it.
