how do i get a picture out of a header?

Whenever I insert a figure on the top of a page, it immediately goes
into the header, and I can't get it out! I delete it, add another
one... and again it goes into the header! I'm going mad!
Can somebody help?

Actually, I am not sure whether the figure is in the header. In orde
to drag the picture I have to be in Normal View, so I guess the pictur
is not inside the footer. However, when I select View Header/Footer
the header's frame appears bigger on those pages where I have figure
on the top, embracing them. I does not let me move or modify them, bu
the header does 'contain' them.

Maybe I should just ignore this? They do look fine, but it's jus
annoying!
