How do I get my pictures to show up in the thumbnails?

When I access the stored pictures in My Pictures folder, the thumbnails do
not show the individual pictures; rather, each thumbnail shows an image of a
sailboat in the sunset. How do I get the actual pictures to show as
thumbnails?
I have Windows XP Professional.

And you should be asking this in a Windows forum, as this is not an Office
problem

Best bet, go to the toolbar button that looks like a folder with little file
icons on it, titled Views, click that and select Thumbnails.
