how do I get rid of "error on page" message when clicking a link?

When I click a link to download something, or go to another web site, I get
an "error on page" message in my tray and I cannot go anywhere from there.
How can I get to my links?

You seem to have posted to the wrong newsgroup as this does not appear
to be an Office question.

Depending on what browser you have (and version) you may try this if
Internet Explorer:

Tools-Internet Options-Advanced.
Disable script debugging and script error notification.
