How do I get the 'replied to' icon to show in inbox

when replying to a message I don't get the 'replied to' purple arrow showing
on the original message in the inbox. I then have to go back to sent messages
to find out if I did reply, it's time consuming!!!

Make Sure Standard Toolbar is checked View->Tollbar->Standard
