How do I get words to appear on top of a movie?

I would like to play a loop in the background and have general instructions'
playing before my presentation begins. However, when the movie starts my
words go to the back and can't be seen.

In PowerPoint, you can't place text or object over a video. Video clip will
always be on top. You might want to put the instructions in the movie instead.

Video will always play in front of everything else. There is no way round
this in standard powerpoint. You might want to look at either putting the
text outside of the video area or editting the text into the video.
