How do I identify, reduce, eliminate redundant links in MSproject?

Are there any tools available in MSproject that can maually reduce or
eliminate redundant links in a network?

Are there algorithms (macros) available?

Hi Phil,

I guess that you're still searching for that elusive Utopian software :).
If you manage to find it, please let us all know where you found it! In the
meantime, I would not have thought that any programme would contain that many
truly redundant links that, if left as they are, would have a significant
effect on the scheduling process. There is a greater likelyhood of the
programme containing "incorrect" links to other, independent tasks, as
opposed to "redundant" links (eg. false logic as opposed to redundant logic).

Cheers.

Phil,

If you're talking about project links to a shared resource pool, then it's
pretty easy. You open up the shared resource pool. go to
Tools->Resources->Share Resources and you'll get a dialog box which shows all
of the files that are linked to that shared resource pool.

Another trick I learned about shared resource pools to overcome "redudndant"
links is that if you want to work up a new version of the project and still
retain the current one, you open the current one, then do a Save As. This
will unlink the current version and link the new version automatically.
