How do I insert a picture into a business card or label?

Trying to make my own business cards and return address labels, but can NOT
get my own file pictures to 'insert' into the pre-formatted allotted area.
Have tried to 'copy and paste' with no luck, either for just the picture or
the whole card, only the typing will transfer, not the picture. Have the same
problem with return address lables. Have always used Word Perfect before, and
have created great cards, but this new computer does not have that program,
only the Microsoft Word. Can someone PLEASE help with instructions on how to
insert a picture, from a file, into the pre-formatted area of a business card
and return address label? Am using the most current Microsoft Office Word
program. Thanks so much!
