How do I keep Outlook from disconnecting after a send/receive?

After my initial connection with Outlook, the program automatically drops the
modem connection. Kind of frustrating, especiall when I want to reply. The
problem does not occur with any other programs, like I.E. Any Help would be
great.

Help would require at least some information from you, which must include:
1. Outlook version
2. Mail account type
3. Connection type setting for this mail account
4. Automatic Send/Receive settings
