I'm trying to merge 2 word documents and keep the same font style and size
when I merge one with the other without success.
By "merge" I take it you mean insert one document into the other? Word works
with STYLES. If you bring text formatted with a style into another document
containing the same style name, but a different definition, the style
definition in the target document has precedence and overrides the formatting
in the document you're inserting.
You need to make sure that the formatting in the second document is done
using style names that don't exist in the target document.
