How do I open a file with extension .MXM?

I can't open file with .MXM in outlook. This file is send from MS Project.

Are you using the Workgroup feature ?
You need to install WGSETUP.exe

In addition, this file must be installed on each computer that will be
using the Workgroup, not just on the one where the MS Project plan is
managed. The resources who will be providing email updates need to have
it installed so that their systems will recognize the files sent from
Project.

I am also having problems opening the .mxm file.

I was having problems running the setup file because it was searching for a
..inf file, however I downloaded the workgroup messaging that Microsoft made
available to people with newer editions of project and found the file. I have
since run the setup file however still can't open the .mxm file.

Am I meant to open the attachment? If so, with which program? In project
help it said to open it by clicking reply but when I do that it just goes to
a normal email.

I also have problems to run with it. The exactly same problem which have been
discussed in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/263444, except Microsoft
Outlook 2003. There is no explanation to overcome this trouble in this
article. I still can't open the file with extension .mxm or .mtm, and the
recipients I send this email can't find the file in their attachment. Anyone
has experiences?

I am also havign the same problem. Someone on my team can not open the file
in the emails that I have sent him. Is it a requirement for the team memebrs
to have MS project installed on their PC's for this workgroup feature to work?

Your team members need to download and install the Workgroup Message Handler
software at:
