how do i open a powerpoint presentation?

[please help]

I have pp2003, recently i tried to open a file my professor posted and a box
pops up saying that the path or file is not valid and to see if the path or
file is incorrect. I have viewed documents in the past with powerpoint and
those that i have in the past says the same thing. Can someone tell me whats
wrong with the system and how i can fix it?

Hi,

It could be an issue with PowerPoint 2003 opening previous versions. Go to
the Help Menu, and select "Check for Updates".

If you are using vba, or

It sounds like it could be a Network mapping issue. If you are working over a
network and the file links are to a network mapped server, perhaps your
mapping is incorrect.

Can you manually go and find the files via Windows Explorer?

Also check Glen's suggestion. Does it work in PP2000 or older?
