I backed my publisher 2003 files to a portable disk. Now I need to open them
in publisher 2007. When sending them from my portable disk to my documents, I
am not given the choice of publisher when I am asked what program to open
with. I am offered word, adobe, paint, word pad etc but no publisher.
I know I'm not very sharp at this...please help. I am in computer heck since
the computer repair dude erased my harddrive by boo-boo.

that is even too simple even for for me!...they are opening in adobe only..
when I reset my default program for php files, publisher is not an option. I
have moved them to my hard drive as Mary suggested in another post, but
cannot open in Publisher. I am a month behind on my work. Help please

Okay...all of the files I have restored to my documents are listed as PHP
files and won't open anywhere. How do I change them back to PUB files.
I saved them to my pocket drive as 2003 pub files before my hard drive was
erased. Now I need to open them in vista with 2007.
Any ides about what I am doing wrong and why I can't open anything?

Yikes none of my files will open...help1

Just taking a little break might help. Take a deep breath....
Harder to think and figure things out when stressed.
I know that's not the answer to opening the files, but have learned from
personal experience sometimes just letting it go, the answer(s) come.
I'm trying to think, I changed to Pub 2007 and had my files from 03 saved
on DVDs (to save space on the hd)
But they were PUB files. Some I have opened in 07 and I think a box comes
up saying it's different and some formatting might change or be different.
When it says OPEN WITH and there's no Publisher, isn't there a link to
browse and find it? Like in C>Program Files.

I put the question/problem into google to see what's there (I was curious
to find out) and came up with a few posts, but not sure I understand them.
It almost sounds like you didn't save the files in Pub 2003 like you
thought.

Both John and Ed answered this in 2006 so if they can't help you now,
maybe there's something in the ng search you can find about it.

..php files are NOT Publisher files. That's PictureIt Publishing - a
completely different program and not compatible with Publisher.
