How do I paste-logo in Documents to letter?

I am a beginner.I have a laptop.Have been trying to conquer the art of
pasting - unsuccessful to date(after many tries)!! For example to paste a
logo from my Documents folder to a letter head in my word processor.I need
very simple step by step instructions.

Select your picture.
Press Control key; while holding that key, press the "c" key (cee). Release
both keys.

Start MS Word. View | Header and Footer
Put your cursor in the Header, press Control key; while holding that key,
press the "v" key (vee). Release both keys

Right-click on the picture that you have just pasted into the header
Choose "Format Picture"
Click the "Layout" tab
Click "Behind text"

Use the radio buttons under "Horizontal alignment" to pick the horizontal
placement that you desire
Click the "OK" button to close the "Format Picture" dialog box

Click "Close" button on the Header and Footer popup.
