How do I print multiple journal items in Memo Style on one sheet?

I used to be able to print multiple Journal items in a Memo style that would
print out continuously - not each item on a separate page. (I believe up to
an early version of Office 2002). Now (in a later versio of Office 2002 and
Office 2003) I am forced into printing each item on a separate page (some of
them are only a sentence or two) and this is an extraordinary WASTE of paper.
Is there any way around this? I have already tried defining my own style,
but that doesn't seem to work either.

Did you uncheck "Start Each Item on a Separate Page?"
