how do I reduce the size of a photograph when sending in an e mai.

Could someone please tell me how to reduce the size of a photograph when
sending by e mail via outlook. I have windows xp and when using outlook
express previously I could go to my pictures, click on e mail this file, and
a dialog box would appear to enable me to reduce the size of a file. Since
installing outlook this dialog box doesn't appear and I've tried to go back
to using OE 6 but the dialog box doesn't appear there either now.
Thanks for any help you may give.

Before creating the message, use a photo editor program to reduce its size.

First, this question would be better answered in the
Microsoft.public.windowsxp.photos news group, but since you asked...

Go to
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
download and install the image resizer.

After you have done that, when you highlight an image in "my Pictures"
folder and "select email this file" a box will open giving you options for
resizing. (be sure to click "show more options")

The other option would be sending an image directly from outlook. There you
"insert" file and navigate to your image, select it.. then on the right in
your Outlook message you should see a dropdown box with a little paperclip
that says "attachment options" select that box and it will open, at the
bottom you should see picture size. There you select your image size.
