How do I remove field codes embedded throughout a document?

Whenever I try and print this document, I get an error message where the
codes are before it is printed.

Evidently some TOC code were copied into the text. However, I found out that
if the text containing the code is selected Control+shift+f9 will zap the
codes while leaving the text.
