How do I save a background image as a template?

I am trying to create a letterhead in Word and I add my background image in
by using Format - Background - Fill Affects and selecting my picture from
there. I save the document as a template, but when I open that template back
up, the background image is gone???

Hi Meech,

What version of Word are you using? Prior to Word 2003
Format=>Background images were viewable/printable only
in Web Layout view.

You can use View=>Header/Footer and then Insert=>Picture to
Insert a link to a graphic file for letterhead as one method.
