How do I save selected tasks from Project to Excel?

I am attempting to save selected tasks from Project to Excel. Selection is
based on range of time. The export/save always returns all task record.

Have you created a filter to limit the tasks? In the export mapping there is
an opportunity to specify a filter to be used. Write the filter and use it.
