How do I send a fax in Outlook 2000?

I am running Windows XP with Office 2000. I don't know how to send a fax through Outlook. I have a Cable Modem as well as a fax modem. Can someone please help me

know your mail support mode and the fax software you intend to use.

I was not sure what information would be needed. Could you please explain what my "mail support mode" is? As far as faxes, I currently send faxes through an all-in-one HP machine. Please let me know what other information is needed

It's all explained on that page.
Outlook does not integrate with third party software like your all in one
fax machine. Your choices of fax software are listed there.
You'll find your mail support mode in Outlook's Help | About, line 2

It's impossible to answer without knowing your Fax software, Outlook and
Word versions. Most of the endless permutations are covered in the pages I
referenced.

That combination will limit your options somewhat, since Word 2000 does not
recognize the Windows XP Fax Service. That limitation will prevent you from
using the built in Word Fax Cover pages.

However, the built in Windows XP Fax Cover pages will be available to you,
including any custom cover pages you create in its Cover Page editor. If you
created your custom Word cover page as a merge document, it should be
available to you as well.
