How do I set hyphenation to default to OFF??

I am running Publisher 2003 on Windows XP Home.

I don't want any of my text hyphenated. It's a pain to have to go into the
language->hyphenation window for every single text box in my publication to
turn it off. I want to set the default for every single document I ever
create in publisher to turn hyphenation OFF!!!!!
I can always turn it back on manually if I need it.

Also, how can I set the default font style and size for new text boxes? I
don't want Times New Roman. I want Arial. I used to be able to do this in
pub 97 but can't find it now.

Thanks!

You could have found the answer for this yourself if you'd bothered to use
the built in help. Tools > Options > Edit.

I believe there is an add-in for this. I'm sure Brian will post the link.

.... Hopefully, you are setting unjustified text with no hyphenation,
otherwise you will have an ugly, hard to read mess. I fyou are doing this
with justified text, then you will create white rivers and strangely spaced
type. This is the top of the list for POOR TYPOGRAPHY. Anyone found doing
this at my company is terminated immediately!

I, too, dislike excessive hyphenation. The feature Pub lacks, that others
have is the ability to set maximum consecutive hyphens (or, at least I
haven't found it). If I have troublesome copy I turn hyphenation off, and
then hyphenate manually if I need to break a word. The best way not to use
hyphenation is simply use nonjustified type (ragged-right as the old school
goes). Though it isn't as pretty on the page as justified type (depending on
the design, of course), our little brains find it much easier to read
anyway.

Ok.....having been severely reprimanded for not "RTFM" before posting, I
went back into Publisher Help and looked for this information. I could not
find it.
I found how to turn on and off hyphenation but not how to default it.
So....if it's in the help, they've managed to hide it in some non-intuitive
place.
Note: I'm pretty sure that I did this search several weeks ago but just
didn't get around to posting till now.

Having said that, I did find the option under Tools>Options>Edit. So thank
you for giving me the answer.

Oh...and just for grins.....what in the world so I search the help for in
order to find the answer?

And to those of you who asked about hyphenation and justification, I do NOT
use right justification and do agree that if you do use it, you'll want to
turn hyphenation on to avoid excess whitespace.
