How do I set Microsoft Word 2002 as the HTML editor in Internet explorer 6.0?
Every time I go to Internet tools and select programs the only choice under
the HTML editor is note pad. Why doesn't my Microsoft Word show up as a
choice since I have Microsoft Office 2005 installed? Please help me figure
out how to change this. I am using Microsoft Windows XP home edition.

Microsoft Office Word should indeed show up (Tools - Internet Options -
Programs tab - HTML editor) if it is installed correctly. You might try
Help - Detect and Repair from Word's menu to see if that can add Word to the
list of HTML editors.

Having said that... Word is a weak HTML editor at best. You'd be much better
off using something like FrontPage. Even FrontPage Express (not sure if it's
available anymore) is vastly better than Word.

Note: there is no Microsoft Office 2005... I suspect that was a typo.

1. Open up Folder Options in Control Panel
2. Select File Types
3. Scroll down until you can select HTML Document (HTML)
4. Click on the Edit button
5. Under the Actions section at the bottom, click on the New button
6. For the Action: type the word Edit
7. For the Application used to perform action: you enter the path for your application or browse
