How do I setup my laptop to do power point presantations on a TV?

I have a s-video to rca cable hooked to laptop & tv. I can get background on
tv but can't get it to mirror what I'm doing on laptop. I want to use it to
do power point presetations for training. How do I do it? Any help
appreciatated.
