How do I share a distribution list in Outlook?

How do I share a distribution list so that when one sharer updates it, the
updated version is available to all sharers. Note that I do not want to send
it, for which guidance is provided, since if I do that then everyone has to
update individually or I have to resend it in addition to updating it.

I have been asked how to do this by several colleagues. It was easy with our
former system (GroupWise!)
