How do I show an event in a calendar that last several days?

Often we wish to include an item in a calendar made in Publisher that crosses
several days (even an entire week). Is there a way to do this other than
simply typing it into each of the days? I'd like to have a line that crosses
the days with the event appearing on that line. Is that possible?
