How do I stop sending a phantom message (not in Outbox)

My outlook attempts to send a message )unsuccessfully) at regular intervals,
even though there is no message in the outbox. How do I find what is being
sent and stop it from doing so over and over.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
