How do I stop SUM giving me XXX total

When totalling a column in ECXEL using SUM I often get an XXX as the answer
...The total can be seen when the cursor is on the XXX but does not show it
when printed .. What am I doing wrong..

Hi Nick

if you mean #### then it's because the column's not wide enough .. double
click on the edge of the column up in the header area (where the A, B, C etc
is)
