How do I stop unwanted hyperlinks?

P

Pault728

When I go from design view to viewing with browser, certain words are marked
as hyperlinks which were not intended to be. They are the same 5 words within
my website and every occurence is marked. What causes this and how can I
eliminate the problem?
Thanks

This sounds a lot like a "browser helper object" trojan that was going around a while back.

You need to run a full virus scan.

Thanks. The computer that FrontPage is installed on has not been connected to
the internet for over a year-has not virus scan available. Must have picked
it up prior to that. Anyway, your analysis must be correct. I moved the
website over to another computer with a freshly installed FrontPage and the
pesky hyperlinks have disappeared. Perhaps I should uninstall FP from the
first computer and reinstall.
Thanks for your help.

Uninstalling and reinstalling FP will not get rid of trojans. You need to
follow Steve's advice about running an anti-virus scan.

I will take yours and Steve's advice.

Hi Again.
I took your advice and ran a virus scan. Found the trojan. Removed trojan
and the program works as it should. No unwanted hyperlinks. Thanks for your
help.
