How do I transfer e-mails and contacts to new PC

Joel

I have a new computer. Is there an easy way of transfering
my e-mails and contacts from my old Outlook to my new
one? Any help with this would be great...

If your e-mail is on the server, you shouldn't have to do
anything. If it's local, you can archive your mail to a
pst file. Your contacts is a matter of drag and drop into
your archive file.

What do you mean by archiving to a pst file. How do I do
that and how do I put those back in my inbox on the new
one.
Not sure how this archive thing works.

Joel, did you get any good guidance on this? I've the
same question. Old Outlook2000 contacts and emails saved
that I would like to load into new PC using Outlook XP.

Tou will find the pst files under -
c:\documents and settings\<your username>\local
settings\microsoft\office\outlook\
You don't even have to archive them, it will only cost you time.
These pst files are excactly the same.

Actually, I think he'll have better luck looking for his pst file under
c:\documents and settings\ said:
settings\APPLICATION DATA\microsoft\office\outlook\, if he left it in the
default location
