How do I type a £ sign

If I try to type a £ sign (over number 3) I get a hash sign.
If I try to type @ (over the ' key) I get "

How can I change this

Go to Control Panel - Regional and Language - Languages tab - Details
button..

Select English UK as your keyboard language.. you might also check other
language options here as they will determine spell check language too..

Sounds like you set Windows to "US" english instead of "UK". You will
find it in Control Panel, Regional and Language Options.
