How do I use my Outlook contacts to send email in Word?

T

I use MS Outlook for all of my emails. When I try to send a new email, it
appears that MS Word is used to draft the new email. But I'm unable to
access my Outlook contacts to get email addresses.

How do I fix this problem?

Right-click your Contacts folder, choose Properties, select the Outlook
Address Book tab, and check the box labeled "Show this folder as an e-mail
Address Book".

Thanks, Brian.

One more minor problem.

Now when I hit the "To" button to access my contacts, it defaults to a
"Contacts" that does not have any info or contacts showing. I have to scroll
down to the second "Contacts" to actually access my contacts. How do I make
it default to the second active contact list.

Next, I have been fooling with this all morning and now have several
"Contacts" or "Mail Contacts" that I have created. How do I get rid of
theses other unnecessary entries.

Never mind Brian. I just figured my second "minor problem" out.

Thanks for all your help.

I am having the same problem; however, my check mark is checked. This is
what happens to me: I am in MS word, I click on my envelope icon and once
there (wanting to create an envelope using addy from Outlook contact folder)
I click on the address book icon and I always get shut down - Microsoft has
discovered a problem and must close - This happened before and I located the
fix (over a year ago), but I had a system crash, everything had to be
reloaded and the problem exists again and I can't remember how I fixed it
before. please write (e-mail address removed) thanks.

How well does the Outlook Address Book work in Outlook?
What is the precise error message?
What version of Outlook/Word?

I have no other issues with the address book - only when trying to access in
ms word. The message says (as the screen is locked up and shutting down)
Microsoft Word has discovered a problem and must shut down. Word is 2002 - I
am running Microsoft XP for small businesses.

Are both Outlook and Word the same version?
Is Outlook your default mail program?
Can you access the Outlook Address Book in Outlook and scroll through it
with no problems?
