Just realized that I'm not actually positive what you're asking.

Hm. How to *what* the templates?

Here are some quickie instrux.

Open PPT and make sure your taskpane is opened (View/Taskpane or hit
Ctrl+F1). Choose File/New, and then in the taskpane on the right, choose
From Autocontent Wizard.

Go through the wizard. You'll end up with a presentation where you just
replace the text. It sounds like that's what you're asking for.

What I prefer to do is simply click the "new" button on the toolbar, then
choose "slide design" in the taskpane on the right, and apply whichever
design I want to use. Type in the title information, then use Insert/New
Slide (Ctrl+M) to insert another slide. Add text and repeat as necessary.

Hi Echo S -
I am also on Pro PPT 2003 - Can you help? I am not getting very far using
AutoContent - keep getting msgs that it cannot find the General, or the
presentation templates I select. Isn't the AutoContent wizard supposed to
come with the software? Can I download it from MS? I've been looking and
cannot find it.
Thanks.

The AutoContent wizard stuff isn't necessarily installed in a typical PPT or
Office installation. You can try putting your Office install CDs in, going
to Start|Control Panel|Add-Remove Programs, choosing Office 2003, and
hitting the Change or Install button. Then select Add-Remove, and click the
option to "choose advanced customization of applications." You should end up
on a screen where you can expand the different applications to see what all
is being installed. Make sure you set both "design templates" and "content
templates" to "run from my computer."

Regarding this:
keep getting msgs that it cannot find the General, or the
presentation templates I select.

I'm not sure what you mean here. As I asked in the PPT group, can you please
tell us the exact steps you're using to get to this point, and then also the
exact text of the error message?
