How do I view slides in the edit pane of normal view?

My xp professional powerpoint has stopped showing pictures in the edit pane
of normal view. What has happened and how do I fix it.

Hi,

Are you getting a red x or a box with nothing in it? Also, have you tried
Help| Check for Updates. Also try to update your video drivers.
