how do u set of the sharepoint net work

for some reason when im trying set up the sharepoint services this msg
appears,

"microsft windows sharepoint services 2.0 cannot be installed because this
server is not running a microsoft windows server 2003 or later operation
system"

......which is not ture....
can anyone tell me wut to do?>??

You may want to post this in either the Sharepoint Portal
Server newsgroup or the MS Windows Sharepoint Services
newsgroup http://microsoft.com/sharepoint/community/
and explain the scenario and version of
Office you're using and the version of Windows
