how do you copy contact information to a new record?

Can anyone tell me how to copy contact information to a new record.

Many of our new contacts work existing companies with the same adress and
basic switchboard phone number. It's very time consuming to cut and paste.
There must be a way to duplicate then edit.

Yes, this works indeed. Personally I don't really like this method as
sometimes a company relocates and it still leaves me with changing too much
contact info than is good for me. Therefore I suggested the method described
