How do you insert line jump for lines that are not connectors?

I have a Visio diagram that needs to be edited. I need to only modify a part
of it. That is connect one block to the other using a line jump as it
overlaps another line. When I use a connector, the line jump does not show up
inspite of selecting Arc from Behaviour > Connector. The new line is not
recognizing the line beneath it as a connector and hence it is not working.
Is there any other way to do this? Kindly help.

Line jumps only work for connectors.
You could try out my Visio Utilities which can do shape substitute.

I've just tried it, it works.
I created a diagram with 4 boxes connected with simple straight lines,
2 of which cross. Open a stencil containing a dynamic connector, e.g.
basic flowchart shapes then from the new menu, choose Shape -> Shape
substitute, choose the shape type to be replaced, choose the new
connector from the new shape name list and click Substitute. You now
have connectors that do line jumps.
