How do you publish from Publisher?

Ok, I've made a great site using publisher, but I can't get it to post
correctly to our website. I used Superpages to host the site and they said we
should have no problems. When I click the "Publish to web" link, it gives me
a link to my desktop and nothing more. It also just creates an html document
that is supposed to contain the entire site. I'm not master at HTML or
publishing, but back in the day when I was using a Front page 98, it seemed
much easier. I'm not sure how i have to publish this document. I've followed
the instructions they give at Microsoft.com, but it doesn't work. Just need
to know how I should do this as I think I must have a setting or something
off.

Publisher is a different animal than FrontPage, and things have changed. You
didn't say what version of Publisher you are using, or whether you are using
IE6 or IE7, or XP or Vista, so here are some references:

How to trouble-shoot Publisher web upload issues :

These would be applicable if you are using XP and IE6:

Reference: How to publish a Publisher web in HTTP:

How to publish a Publisher web publication (FTP) :

You have to use HTTP uploading and FPSE probably a bit like you did with
FrontPage if you are using a form in your Publisher web:
Reference: Publisher web publication forms 101:

Prepare, publish, and maintain your Publisher Web site:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/publisher/HA100947601033.aspx
It is written for Pub 2007, but if you are using IE7 instead of IE6, then
the directions for using Vista would apply. FTP uploading has changed with
the introduction of IE7.

And finally, if you are not using a form in your web, then I would suggest
you use FTP uploading protocol:
download and install the free FTP client FileZilla:
http://filezilla-project.org/ It is likely to be easier for you. Change the
default ASCII File Type to Auto File Type.
