How do you stop a text box moving connector lines?

Hi,

I want to use a text box as a sort of a subtitle to indicate that the
process is moving from one department to another. I want the text box to
therefore sit over the top of the connector lines on my basic flowchart
without the connector lines moving themselves sideways out of the way.

When I try bringing forward / moving back the shape / lines, nothing seems
to happen (using right click then shape then nring to front/back as
appropriate).

Can anyone suggest a way of having the one sit over the other?

Thanks

Hey CG,

Two ideas:

1. Simply select the connector and type the text on the connector. You can
reposition the text by moving the yellow control handle.
2. Select your text box
Go to: Format > Behavior > Placement Tab
For Placement Behavior, select: "Do not layout and route around"

This tells Visio that your text box is not involved in layout, and is not an
object "to be avoided"
