How do you stretch lettering to go across paper?

How do you change the width of a line to 6.5" so that it stretches across the
entire lett<rhead>

It depends on what you're trying to do. In general terms, you would justify
the paragraph, but I suspect that you're talking about a single line of text
rather than a block of it. In this case, try the Distribute Text command
(Ctrl+Shift+J), which adds space between the letters as well as between the
words. If you don't like the effect, you can try adding extra spaces between
words, or you can do the whole thing manually by monkeying with the
character spacing in Format | Font.
