How do you supress the "Create Your Drawing Here" feature?

P

Paul James

When I want to place drawing objects like text boxes and arrows in a Word
document, I would like to be able to place them wherever I want without
having to deal with the "Create Your Drawing Here" object that appears. For
my simple purposes, that thing is more trouble than it's worth. Is there a
setting that will let me place the drawing objects in a document without
having that thing pop up?

Thanks in advance.

Paul,

Tools>Options>General. Uncheck Automatically Create Drawing Canvass When
Inserting AutoShapes.

On the Tools menu, click Options and then select the
General tab. Un-select teh "Automatically create drawing
canvass when inserting auto-shapes.

And yes -- this is more trouble than it's worth!

Cheers!
