how email attachment is shown in the email

Same problem as posted by others: attachment used to show in extra
"attachments" line under Subject line. Now shows as icon in body text.
Response was to change format. I'm already on Rich Text. No HTML option.
Plain text puts attachment under line at bottom of email and means I can't
use fonts & formatting etc. Some people don't get my attachments though they
obviously get sent, as a photo one took a longer time to arrive. Please can
you help.

You must use HTML format for that combination.
What do you mean by that HTML is not an option?
Which version of Outlook are you using? Help-> About

Rich Text will show attachment icons embedded in the message. What version
of Outlook are you using? HTML should be available in any extant version.

Only another Outlook user will be able to see your attachments when you use
Rich Text.
