how to animate selected content of a table

If I have a table with some numbers or symbols in the cells, how do I animate
it so that only the contents of selected cells is displayed on click?

You would have to ungroup the table and animate the individual textbox.
Unfortunately, we don't have the ability to animate tables as you wish.

Sure it is.

Copy the table, then Paste Special (on the Home tab, over on the left).
Choose WMF or EMF, then ungroup that.

I had already tried that. But this results in an uneditable table. Even
worse, if any effects were applied to the table (such as a simple shadow),
the results paste messed up, resembling the old-style rendering of EPS files.
