How to change size of cursor in MS Word?

I was working in MS Word. I all of a sudden noticed that the size of my
cursor got very small and hard to see. How do I change the size of it to
make it larger?

Go to Control Panel > Accessibility Options > Display (tab).
Under "Cursor Options", adjust the "Width" slider
and click APPLY.

I've encountered this oddity as well and what worked for me was to
open my Display Properties, modify the properties in order to enable
the Apply button, and click Apply. For example I switched the
Appearance to Windows Classic and then back to Windows XP.

I tried both of these (control panel and apply different display appearances)
and neither worked. If I switch to draft view everything is fine, but if
work in Print Layout view I get the tiny cursor. Very irritating. It looks
like a bug.
